CBO Transport was appointed to consider a number of transport and highway issues at one of South Manchester's premier business parks. One of the conclusions of this first piece of work was that the site would benefit from a Travel Plan to, not least, assist access to the site for existing and future employees who did not own a car.

We were appointed by the site management company CBRE to advise on the development of the plan and identify measures that could encourage access to the site by non-car modes of transport.

We developed a web based questionnaire which was available to all employees on the Park. The questionnaire identified that a large number of people were interested in car sharing and we engaged with Liftshare to provide advice on a car share database for the site.

Much of the rest of our advice on the Travel Plan was to provide links to information sources already publically available. It is a common finding of Travel Plan questionnaires that people do not know where to access information. It is a simple, effective and low cost element of an employer Travel Plan to provide links to these information sources.
